Victoria Beckham is allergic to pasta, declaring it her “kryptonite”. Maybe this explains why she is so thin, is it pasta she is allergic to or does she just choose to shy away from all types of carbs?

The 34-year-old fashion crazy wag arrived in Italy with her husband David Beckham at the weekend - where he is on loan to football team AC Milan in the New Year - and promptly insulted their national dish, setting their stay off to a bad start! 

Victoria has said: “It’s not that I avoid carbs, I’m allergic to pasta. It’s like my kryptonite.”

“I feel like I can’t digest it properly and it makes me feel ill. I will not be eating any pasta even though it is the most common meal in this country”

The former Spice Girl keeps her 22 inch waist by sticking to a diet of protein including egg white omelettes, soya beans, strawberries and prawns, a not so exciting diet, how can someone live off only that?! No wonder she is so tiny. 

An AC Milan fan said: “Pasta is our national dish. How can you live in Italy and not try some? From the look of her she could do with tucking into spaghetti!” I think there will be many who will agree with that statement.

Alexandra Burke and Ruth Lorenzo have been house hunting since their recent success in X Factor and they have new decided they have found their dream home.

The X Factor singers decided weeks ago they’d move in together after the show had ended - and now it seems they have moved into their London riverside apartment, complete with a huge 50 inch plasma screen TV, wall-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views and wet room. 

The show’s winner of 2008 Alexandra - who is still celebrating from being Christmas No 1 with her version of Hallelujah - has also splashed out on new furniture for her mum’s home in north London.

A source said: “Alex isn’t ready to live by herself yet. She and Ruth have become firm friends in the past three months. Ruth’s been an absolute rock.”

It is certain that they pair will look out for one another, and keep each other grounded. It’s an incredible time for Alex - she’s living in the most exciting capital in the world at the most exciting time of her life. The new apartment, which they’re currently renting, reflects the lifestyle to which she will soon be accustomed.

And Simon Cowell has apparently given Alexandra a holiday to Barbados to celebrate her success.

Alex said: “It’s been the best week of my life. Simon Cowell has given me a holiday to celebrate and said I can go anywhere in the world.” No wonder Alex is bursting with excitement right now, it’s an incredible time for her and will take her a while to get used to all the changes. But Alex has said all she really wants to do is get started on the album.

The X Factor starlet’s love life with ex-boyfriend Chris Jones and fellow finalist Eoghan Quigg has been the subject of rumours for the past few weeks, and she has recently ‘cooled things off’ with Chris as she is moving from her hometown of Blackburn to London, and they will be too far apart to continue the relationship, but the blonde  is not looking for a replacement boyfriend, she has revealed she is looking for a loveable mutt.

“I want a dog, I really want a pet dog,” she said. “But I don’t know whether I am going to be busy, whether that would be practical.”

And it seems she’s not the only X Factor star who enjoys spending time with canine friends.

X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman says he loves spending time with his dogs, as they help him to relax and switch off from everything, he has just spent christmas in Barbados with his dogs, sounds so much more peaceful than having all the family round for christmas dinner!

Kate Moss gathered all her friends and family together at a big party to make an announcement - that she was not pregnant. The supermodel threw an Andy Warhol-themed party for her boyfriend, Kills guitarist Jamie Hince’s 40th birthday at her Cotswolds country home on Saturday.

Kate gathered her nearest and dearest together telling them she had a big announcement to make, which set tongues wagging as to what this big announcement was going to be! 

Kate, 34, got up during the evening took the karaoke mic and told everyone that she definitely wasn’t pregnant.

Unfortunately for Kate many of the people she had invited cancelled last minute, which upset her as the party meant alot to her and she had spent alot of time preparing, a source said: “There were more last-minute cancellations than a Pete Doherty tour. Davinia was ill but other excuses were lame. Kate spent the night apologising to Jamie for the turnout.”

The fully stocked champagne and vodka bar was enjoyed by Kate and celebrities which had managed to attend the night, so a good night was still had by all, even if there was a bad turn out.

Sam wrote on her MySpace blog on Monday: ”Thanks for all your messages, I’m home and all good. was just pretty exhausted from travelling and working too much to buy Chanukah gifts and my Jewish mother was worried about me. I had good company and a Jerry’s deli delivery of chicken soup and potato pancakes and am feeling much better and am back to watching all my favourite Jerry Bruckheimer shows!”

On Saturday night Sam, 31, and Lindsay, 22, were at Hollywood’s Ecco Ultra Lounge, where Sam played a set along with Adam 12 and Benji Madden. Lindsay left the club before Sam had finished playing. 

Sam’s DJing fees have rocketed since she started dating Lindsay according to the New York Daily News. She used to earn £1,000 a set and now charges up to £17,000 because club promoters know there is a good chance Lindsay will turn up with her. She is thought to have made around £2 million from gigging in 2008!

 With influences drawn largely from the golden era of 1980s pop (ie. before Stock, Aitken, and Waterman made it rubbish), this  Danish combo’s debut album is a selection of fun from start to finish. Track eight though, (Rubberboots) sticks out like a sore t  thumb in its inexplicable awfulness but, if anything, it serves only to highlight the embarrassment of riches on show elsewhere.

 The Raconteaurs - Consolers of the Lonely 

 It’s rare that a band’s second album blows the socks off its predecessor but Consolers Of The Lonely did exactly that.  While Broken Boy Soldiers certainly had its moments, it seemed as though Jack White and Brendon Benson’s respective talents  were too unique ever to blend convincingly. 

 Duffy - Rockferry

 Most people’s first exposure to Duffy came with the retro R&B of Mercy, which lit up the charts in February. Great though that    track is, the real gems were to be had on her debut album. At its best (Warwick Avenue, Syrup and Honey, Distant Dreamer),  Rockferry revealed a neo-soul talent every bit as impressive as Amy Winehouse. 

 Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree

“Getting it together in the country” is an old hippie cliche which rarely has the desired effect (see Withnail And I). Alison    Goldfrapp and Will Gregory pulled it off here though, retreating from the disco stylings of their previous few albums and    channeling the bucolic spirit of Kate Bush.

 Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night

 With the arrival of this, their fourth album in five years, Kings of Leon revealed not only a work ethic absent in most of the  peers, but also their evolution from indie darlings to the country’s favourite stadium rock band. 

 Portishead - Third

 The way this band has evolved is stunning, their net has been cast far wider for this album and brings in an array of influences,  everything from post-rock and sea shanties to industrial and techno. Utterly sublime, with only the odd song harping back to the  days of ‘traditional’ Portishead.

 Roots Manuva

 As schizophrenic as it is brilliant, Slime And Reason is the sound of a man unable to reconcile macho swagger with tortured soul-  searching. Mr Manuva’s dilemma is our gain though. Here he proves once again that he’s UK hip-hop’s finest.

A-List celebrity mums are telling all about their family lives in a new tell-all book “The Black Book of Hollywood Pregnancy Secrets,” which is due out in March, 2009. You must of heard of these people: Katie Holmes, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie… They’re all in the book and they’re talking about living in the spotlight, enjoying holidays, and even living life as a single celebrity mum, all the in’s and out’s of being a celebrity mum that you would like to know! 

Kate Hudson finds it very hard dating as a single mom to 5-year-old son, Ryder. “I do find it tough to date,” Kate says. “I’d rather be at home with my son cooking dinner than going out with a guy. My son is my man.”

Angelina Jolie recalls one Halloween with Brad Pitt and her children. “We were in India and Brad and the kids and I had an off celebration in the hotel we were staying at. We had candy sent up, which we said was from the saints.” 

Tina Fey says, “I don’t care how many magazine covers you’re on. When you’re chasing a three-year-old around with a pull-up diaper hoping she won’t poop on the floor, you’re just like every other mom on the planet.”

Helena Bonham Carter, actress and wife of awesome director Tim Burton, says she got quite snippy about her vices during her pregnancy. Helena, 42, has two kids with Tim - son Billy, 5, and daughter Nell, 13 months. She was often yelled at for drinking coffee while preggers.

Whenever someone slammed her for the caffeine intake, she’d say, “Your mother was probably on vodka, and do you have three heads?”

Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman have become homebodies in the year since their son Max was born. Christina said recently that her favorite way to spend the evening is with a good board game after dinner, the star has certainly calmed down from her days of her famous single ‘dirty’ and her wild ways of partying! 

Christina herself has described herself and her husband as living like hermits and that the past years for them has been all about moving in and change and there has been no real reason for her to leave the house.

Christina said: “I know that I never want to leave the house, let the world see what crazy animals my boys are. We all have good days and bad days when we leave the house with our kids in tow, it’s just a risk we all have to take.”

Maybe Christina is afraid of being photographed having a bad time with her son, but that is nothing she should worry about as it is something all parents go through at some point with their children - a public tantrum. But she saw what happened to Britney and perhaps she is afraid of that.

Good Charlotte musician Benji Madden and Britney have hooked up after his recent split from celebrity heiress Paris Hilton. The pair have been on a few dates and on one they met once at The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for dinner in a hotel suite. According to people who saw them dining there, Britney appears to be very into Benji, and he seemed to be acting the same towards her. 

The only problem for Britney now is any relationship she has needs to get the seal of approval from her father, as he doesnt want her to ruin all the hard work gone into getting her back onto the right track. But according to reports, he’s the one who wanted to set them up!

Jamie - Britneys Dad, asked Brit’s manager Larry Rudolph to create a list of potential boyfriends for his daughter to date. Besides Benji, the list included Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, actor Jesse Metcalf and Michael Phelps.

Larry made some phone calls and Benji ended up being the most interested in being fixed up. There may even be an announcement about their dating - to help promote her new album and spring tour of course! Its all about the publicity! 

Brit’s manager wants to “make a big, splashy announcement to help publicize her upcoming tour.” Her Dad has helped her through her recent tough times but surely there is no need for her Dad to help arranges dates and call the shots about marriage and more children!
